The Achievement Measurement 2 (AM2) skill test, from National Electrical Training (NET), is for advanced apprentices in the 3rd or 4th year of their training course. Any individual at the same level who needs the test for industry recognition can also apply. Candidates usually come from one of the following backgrounds:
- Apprentices completing a Level 3 full framework Electrotechnical Apprenticeship programme.
- Individuals taking the C&G 2356 NVQ 3 program take the AM2 test to provide part of the evidence of competency required for this qualification.
- Individuals who are not currently on an NVQ programme but who have already successfully completed an appropriate electrical training programme and wish to demonstrate their competence.
- Electricians who lack industry recognition and/or formal qualification/s who wish to obtain the AM2 Test Certificate as proof of competence.
- Electricians may wish to take the AM2 Test to satisfy the requirements for membership of industry organisations, foreign governments or industry bodies when applying to emigrate.

Gaps in Your Knowledge?

What to Wear
Steel toe capped work boots MUST be worn throughout the test, and you do need to dress appropriately (contact us if you require guidance).
What to Bring With You
The AM2 Ashford Test Centre provides all the tools and equipment you will require to complete the test.
There are refreshment facilities in the test centre, and you will have access to South Kent College's lunch and fast food facilities.
